Mystery at Guest House! Police Probe Abandoned Child Case

Police at Buloba are investigating a troubling case of child abandonment reported at Kajajata Guest House in Bulaga B Village, Wakiso District. The incident has raised concern among residents and authorities as efforts begin to trace the people responsible.

According to preliminary reports, on 26th March 2026, two unidentified adults checked into the guest house with a young child. They stayed for two days without raising suspicion. However, on 28th March 2026, the pair reportedly left the child with the guest house manager, claiming they were going to get money to clear their bill. They never returned, leaving the child behind without any explanation.

The matter was officially reported to police on 2nd April 2026, prompting an investigation. Early findings indicate that the suspects left behind a mobile phone and some personal belongings, which could help authorities track them. Police are now carefully examining these items as part of the ongoing inquiry.

The abandoned child has since been taken into safe custody and handed over to a probation officer to ensure proper care and protection. Authorities say the child is safe as investigations continue.

Speaking on the matter, Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, urged the public to assist in the search. He called on anyone with information about the identity or whereabouts of the child’s parents to report to the nearest police station.

Police have assured the public that efforts are ongoing to locate the suspects and reunite the child with family or ensure a safe and secure future.
