SAD! UEDCL’s Engineer Asio Dies in Mbarara-Masaka Highway Accident

An Engineer with Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited, (UEDCL) has lost her life in a fatal road accident that occurred on 3rd April, 2026 along Mbarara-Masaka Highway.

The confirmation of the death of Engineer Stella Asio was relayed by UEDCL in a statement dated Sunday, 5th April, 2026.

UEDCL says the burial deceased Asio will take place at her ancestral home in Tididiek, in Ngora district on Tuesday, 7th April, 2026 starting at 12:00PM.

“The UEDCL Board, Management and Staff are saddened to announce the untimely passing on of its staff, Eng. Stella Asio that occurred on 3 April, 2026 following her involvement in a car accident along Mbarara-Masaka Highway,” reads the statement.
