FIFA World Cup 2026: The 10 African countries set for the global football fiesta

Canada, Mexico and United States of America (USA) will co-host the FIFA World Cup 2026 championship from 11th June to 19th July 2026.

Africa will be represented by ten countries; South Africa, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Tunisia, Egypt, Cape Verde, Senegal, Algeria, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Ghana.

South Africa is in Group A with Mexico, South Korea and Czech Republic.

Morocco is staged in Group A along with the tournament record winners Brazil, Haiti and Scotland. Ivory Coast is caged in Group E with debutants Curacao, Germany and Ecuador.

Group F has Netherlands, Japan, Sweden and Tunisia. In Group G is Egypt, Belgium, Iran and New Zealand. Cape Verde is in Group H with Spain, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay.

Senegal faces France, Iraq and Norway in Group I. Group J has the reigning World champions Argentina, Algeria, Austria and another debutant Jordan.

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), returning to the FIFA World Cup after 52 years are pooled in Group K with Portugal, first timers Uzbekistan and Colombia.

Ghana is in Group L with England, Croatia and Panama.
