BREAKING! Mbale City Authorities Interdict Veterinary Officer over Illegal Meat

Mbale City has interdicted Alfred Ochieng, the Senior Veterinary Officer attached to North City Division, over allegations of promoting illegal meat.

This was revealed to this Publication by Mbale City Deputy Town Clerk, Jolly Hasoho in an exclusive interview at her office today, Friday, April 10, 2026.

She says the interdiction his alleged continued practice of stamping illegally sourced meat after taking bribes.

She adds that investigations will be conducted, and if found guilty, he will be dismissed based on Public Service Standing Orders.

The interdiction comes after Mbale City recently conducted an operation on illegal meat and fake stamps, resulting in arrests, prosecutions, and the impounding and burning of thousands of kilograms of meat.

The deputy town clerk cautioned other city staff under production department against involving in such acts warning it may cost their jobs.

She says Mbale city has recognized Abattoirs for meat slaughter but not anywhere.
