BESIGYE SERIES: PFF dismisses claims it is weakened by Besigye’s absence
The leadership of the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) has dismissed allegations that the party, which is relatively new and did not front a presidential candidate in the last election, is struggling due to the absence of Dr. Kizza Besigye, who is currently on remand after being charged with treason.
Speaking to NTV, Erias Lukwago, the acting president of the PFF, denied critics’ claims that many political parties in Uganda engage in identity-based politics. Sudhir Byaruhanga spoke to Erias Lukwago in Part Two of the series on Besigye’s absence and its impact on the country’s fragile political landscape.
