Mbale City has interdicted two Primary school head teachers over alleged exam malpractices occasioned during the 2025 PLE Examinations.

The duo interdicted on Friday, 10th April, 2026 are; Stephen Washaki of St’ Joseph Musoto Primary School and Erias Mugoya of Bumuluya Primary School.

After the release of Primary Leaving Examination results of 2025, the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) withheld results for 46 candidates from Bumuluya Primary School and 178 of St Joseph Musoto primary school.

The two were later summoned to explain the alleged malpractice. They refused to appear, leading to the candidates being required to repeat Primary 7.

Mbale City Deputy Town Clerk, Jolly Hasoho confirms the interdiction, saying the head teachers are responsible for the mistakes and will face investigation.

She says if found guilty, they will be dismissed. Hasoho also condemned the St Joseph Musoto head teacher’s alleged incitement of parents and pupils to attack city authorities who had gone to break the bad news at the school.

Hasoho urges other head teachers to learn from the situation and avoid exam malpractice.
