Students in Kasese strike over failed Bus procure deal
section of Students of Rwenzori High school in Kasese district attributes the last weekend strike to poor feeding and the harsh punishment to the two students suspected to be in romance.
According to the students whose identity will not be disclosed for their safety, thirty thousand shillings demanded from each student in the boys hostel to replace a damaged CCTV camera, the delayed procurement of a school bus and what they perceive to be a harsh punishment to the suspected lover birds, sparked the strike that left part of the property at the school affected. Ms Federesi Ndaleghana, a mother to one of the six students detained by police over the strike, blamed the forces and the school administration for the indiscriminative arrests, alleging that her son, Lordrick Bwambale, was innocent after being picked from his bed.

Mr. Erifaz Muhindi, the Kasese district local council five chairperson like Mr. Modesto Kanekerya, the local council three chairperson for Ibanda-Kyanya town council, called for round table discussion to iron out any concerns than resorting to what they called selfish decision that end up damaging school property, including and not limited to furniture, bulbs and CCTV cameras for the case of Rwenzori High school.

Mr. Enoch Mugabe Sebuliba, the school head teacher, declined to comment over the strike.
