GUN DRAMA AT SPEKE APARTMENTS! UBOS Top Boss ‘Tries To Shoot’ Mp In Boozy Clash

There was high drama at Speke Apartments on Saturday night after a heated parking lot clash between a top boss at the Uganda Bureau of Statistics and outgoing Rubanda West MP Moses Kamuntu allegedly escalated into a near-shooting incident!

Eyewitnesses say the trouble started at the exit when the UBOS boss, driving a government-issued Toyota Land Cruiser, reportedly rammed into Kamuntu’s car. What should have been a simple apology quickly turned into a fiery confrontation.

Kamuntu reportedly tried to leave—but was confronted, sparking a heated exchange that drew attention from stunned onlookers.

Sources claim the UBOS boss suddenly reached into his vehicle and pulled out a pistol—sending panic through the area. In a dramatic twist, the gun allegedly malfunctioned, with the magazine dropping and bullets scattering onto the ground!

Witnesses say the visibly shaken official—reportedly tipsy—scrambled to collect the fallen bullets, even searching under the vehicle for those that had rolled away.

“He said, ‘This is my gun… I was given it to protect myself. Don’t joke with me!’” an eyewitness recounted.

Kamuntu, clearly angered, demanded an apology and insisted the incident be taken seriously, citing the alleged display of a firearm.

“He knocked my car, refused to apologize, then pulled a gun on me! He was even drunk and driving a government vehicle,” Kamuntu said.

Efforts to reach the UBOS boss were unsuccessful as calls went unanswered.

Meanwhile, Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire said no formal complaint had yet been filed.

“We have no information on that case at the moment. If a complaint is made, we shall investigate. For now, it remains hearsay,” he said.

The incident has left eyewitnesses shaken, raising fresh concerns over how quickly minor disputes involving public officials can spiral into dangerous confrontations.
