Kawempe Police Arrest Nursery School Director Over Death Of Learner
Police in Kawempe have arrested the director of Spotless Nursery School, Elizabeth Aluku, over the death of a nursery learner following a tragic incident at the school.
According to Racheal Kawala, the child reportedly sustained severe injuries on April 10, 2026, after falling into a saucepan of hot water that had allegedly been left unattended at the school.
The injured child was rushed to Kiruddu National Referral Hospital, where they were admitted in critical condition.
Police say the child later died on April 15, 2026, despite efforts by medical teams to save their life.
Kawala stated that investigations indicate no one was present at the scene at the time of the incident, raising concerns of negligence.
Police say the school director has been taken into custody as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
