SAD! Popular Western Uganda Gospel Singer Dies One Week after Wedding

A popular Western Uganda gospel singer has died one week after wedding, throwing the Catholic Church community into grief. JB Kazoora breathed his last on Monday, May 04, 2026.

JB Kazoora (John Bosco Kazoora) was a popular gospel and cultural singer from Mbarara Archdiocese.

He was a great composer whose music touched Catholics in the Mbarara Archdiocese and brought them closer to God.

The Catholic liturgical songs he composed in Runyankore-Rukiga included Ebirungi Byonkoreire Taata, Reeba Eirembo Rya Mukama and Yesu Mujuni.

Other popular songs by JB Kazoora included Tusiime Mukama, Turiyo Nituhingura, Tihariho Ndijo Owakubasa Kutujuna, Reka Nkusiime, Ntume Oha Yeimwe and Nkwata Omukono Taata

Reports say JB Kazoora succumbed to diabetes complications. He was 64.

Tributes have been pouring in following the news of the death of JB Kazoora.

The Catholic Centenary Memorial Choir (Cacemcho) choir wrote: “CACEMCHO expresses sympathies and condolences to the Family , Archdiocese Of Mbarara, friends of John Bosco Kazoora who passed on today.

“JB Kazoora co- performed with us during our 45 anniversary Concert at Theatre Labonita a few years ago. He’s been so close to Us. We shall miss his warmth, and his presence. May his soul Rest in Eternal Peace,” the choir added.
