Ugandan authorities have arrested a suspected transnational criminal, Keith Mugisha, along with two Nigerian nationals in a coordinated security operation. The arrest was carried out by the Ministry of Internal Affairs following intelligence shared through Interpol and several public tip-offs. The suspects were taken into custody in connection with alleged serious criminal activities that are now under investigation.

According to the Ministry spokesperson, Simon Peter Mundeyi, the arrested individuals include Keith Mugisha, described as a mufumbiro from Gasiza Parish in Nyakabande Subcounty, Kisoro District, and two Nigerians identified as Ikemefuna Testimony Udo and Ikemefuna Annoning. Authorities believe the group may be linked to a wider transnational criminal network operating across borders.

During the operation, security forces recovered several items believed to be connected to illegal activities. These included a firearm, military-grade equipment, and other materials that are now being examined as part of ongoing investigations. Officials say the recovered items raise concerns about the level of organisation and potential threats posed by the suspects.

The arrests are part of a broader effort by Ugandan security agencies to fight transnational crime, which has increasingly involved cross-border coordination and intelligence sharing with international partners such as Interpol. Authorities have emphasized that public cooperation played a key role in helping to track down the suspects.

Investigations are still ongoing as law enforcement works to establish the full extent of the alleged criminal activities and any wider networks involved. Officials have assured the public that further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
