Justin Namere’s Dad Vincent Sempijja Has 14 Days to Become Homeless After Money Lenders Move to Sell Off his K’la House
For years, Vincent Frerrio Bamungaki Sempijja (who personally mentored greats likes AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi) served as Masaka LC5 Chairman before moving on to become Kalungu East MP for two terms (2011-2021).
In 2021, he was dethroned by NUP’s Francis Katongole Katabazi who rode on the Kyagulanyi wave to replace him as Kalungu East MP. Gen Museveni was gracious enough to keep Sempijja (who already had made a lot of money as a leading coffee farmer in Masaka) around as Minister of Defense.
He had previously lucratively served as the Minister of Agriculture, the very capacity in which he instigated the knifing of Dr. Charles Lagul who was effectively serving as the Executive Director for NAGRIC&DB based in Entebbe.
Yet there are now irrefutable indicators that this same Vincent Sempijja, who also famously fathers the belligerent Masaka City Woman MP-elect Justin Namere, has fallen on hard times, financially speaking.
His daughter, whose political victory over NUP’s Rose Nalubowa Musajjaakawa was recently disputed by the Masaka Catholic Bishop, has lately been famous for taking struggling NRM cadres to moneybags Anita Among to have their financial problems solved. One only hopes and prays that the otherwise very graceful Sempijja gets to benefit from that Speaker Anita Among magnanimity too.
The latest reaching our news desk shows that one of Kampala’s commercial banks, licensed to be into the business of money lending, has contracted West Book Associates, a bailiffs’ firm, to attach and auction Sempijja’s prime properties including apartment blocks and sell it off via public auction in order to recover billions of monies that are owed.
Apparently, the veteran Museveni cadre took out the loans a few years ago and now the whole thing has grown into an elephant determined to sink him into bottomless financial oblivion and destitution. The targeted properties and apartments sit on Kyadondo’s Block 194 Plot 2560 in Kungu Kira Municipality, Wakiso district. And the land measures up to 0.0890 hectares.
The public newspaper notice, publicizing the impending auction which has to take place in 14 days’ time, indicates that the borrowers who took out the loan originally were Sempijja himself, Gerald Mayanja, Valentino Kaweesi and David Kawunde.
The other property is registered and particularized as leasehold register volume 912 folio 20 plot 189 Kyadondo block 203 Wakiso and it measures 0.0890 hectares. In both cases, Mzee Vincent Bamulangaki Sempijja is the registered proprietor or owner of the land and developments or buildings thereon.
