Gen Muhoozi Inspects Final Military Parade Rehearsals Ahead of Presidential Swearing-In

The Chief of Defence Forces and Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has inspected the final military parade drill rehearsals at Kololo Independence Grounds in preparation for next week’s presidential swearing-in ceremony.

The highly coordinated parade, commanded by Brigadier General John Bosco Asinguza and deputized by Colonel Stuart Agaba, brings together personnel from the Uganda People’s Defence Forces, Uganda Police Force, and the Uganda Prisons Service.

The showcase will feature a display of arms and specialized formations including the UPDF’s Paratrooper formation, Field Artillery Division, Motorized Infantry Division, and Anti-Aircraft units, highlighting the country’s military capability and preparedness.

Aerial displays are also set to form a key part of the ceremony, with the UPDF Air Force deploying an Mi-17 helicopter carrying the National Flag, alongside coordinated fly-pasts by L-172 aircraft in spiral formation, Caravan 208 aircraft in Eagle formation, and Sukhoi-30 fighter jets in the Tiger formation. The military brass band, commanded by Colonel Moses Ssentongo, will provide ceremonial music during the parade.

During the inspection, Gen Muhoozi emphasized the importance of precision and professionalism among participating officers.

“I urge all officers to perform with excellence, pay attention to detail, and uphold teamwork, discipline, and dedication to ensure an impeccable performance and sharp turnout on D-day,” he said.

He commended the troops for their efforts so far, noting that their performance during rehearsals had been impressive.

“I congratulate the parade participants on the outstanding performance demonstrated so far,” Gen Muhoozi added. “However, we must continue to fine-tune every aspect to ensure full readiness for Tuesday’s Presidential swearing-in ceremony.”

The final rehearsals mark a crucial step in preparations for the national event, which is expected to draw regional leaders, international dignitaries, and thousands of Ugandans to Kololo Independence Grounds.
