Casemiro speaks his mind on Michael Carrick as he admits Man Utd have a 'big problem
Manchester United midfielder Casemiro admits the club has a big problem when it comes to Michael Carrick's future at Old Trafford, having delivered big results. The Brazilian feels that the interim head coach is fully deserving of being appointed as Ruben Amorim's permanent successor.
Carrick has guided United back to the Champions League after a year without European football, transforming the club from Premier League strugglers. During that time, he's won games against Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea.
He also boasts the highest win per cent rate71.4%) of any manager post Alex Ferguson. There have been several United stars coming out and throwing their support behind Carrick, with Casemiro, who is set to leave the club in the summer, the latest to do so.

When asked about Carrick's future, Casemiro said: "The club has a big problem in that aspect, right? Because we know he came in as an interim manager, he came, he delivered, he had difficult games.
"He did very well, he’s doing very well, he’s a guy who knows the club, he knows what Manchester United is all about. He has class, he has the attitude of Manchester United, he’s an incredible person, and he deserves it, he deserves to stay.
"If I were to give my opinion, he’s a guy who deserves it. Knowing him day to day, you already say, ‘this guy deserves it’. He has class, he lives and breathes the club, he knows what the club is all about.
"So, for me, this guy has to stay at the club for more years because he deserves it, he really deserves he job."

Carrick spoke out about his future at this press conference
Carrick was asked about his future during his pre-match press conference on Thursday and said: "We’ve got eyes on finishing the season strongly as well. So, I understand the question, I understand the timing of it, but from my point of view, right at this stage, it’s just putting the boys in a place to finish the season strongly, and then, as I’ve said all along, and I’m calm about it.
"It’ll get sorted out when it’s going to get sorted out, some of it’s out of my hands, so we’ll see what happens. I think I’ve said from the start, though, that I’ve never approached a day here in terms of any short-term decisions.
"Whether that’s different from the outlook of others, I don’t know, but from mine and certainly the staff, I think we’ve definitely made decisions for the longer term for the group and individually as players and how we treat them and try to help develop them, the squad.
"So, I don’t think, really, it would change the approach for how I’ve tried to go about things. Again, I understand that it might be for other people looking towards me maybe or towards us, whether that’s players, whether that’s supporters, whether that’s you lot sitting here.
"I don’t know how that changes, but maybe we’ll get to see, I don’t know. But certainly, from my point of view, I think I’ve done it, gone about it, in a way that I feel is the right way to do it."
