Forgotten Man Utd player posts five-word message after latest AFCON match, his teammate responds
Forgotten Manchester United man Sofyan Amrabat posted a heartfelt message after Morocco were held to a 1-1 draw against DR Congo at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Amrabat has flown out to represent Morocco at AFCON and featured in his country’s 3-0 win over Tanzania in their opening Africa Cup of Nations match.
However, Morocco had to settle for a point on Sunday against DR Congo, despite leading in the sixth minute through Paris Saint-Germain star Achraf Hakimi.
VfB Stuttgart’s Silas pulled back an all-important equaliser in the 76th minute for the DR Congo, with Amrabat and Co unable to restore Morocco’s lead before full-time.
Morocco are currently top of Group E at AFCON and are level on points with second-place Zambia, third-place Niger and fourth-place Tanzania.

Amrabat’s rallying call after Morocco match
Amrabat arrived at Old Trafford on deadline day last September as part of a loan move from Fiorentina, with United paying an £8.6m fee as part of the deal.
MORE UNITED STORIES
The 27-year-old Fiorentina loanee’s move to United can be made permanent if the Red Devils agree to a £17m fee, with a further £4.5m in add-ons.
However, it remains unclear if United manager Erik ten Hag will push for a permanent deal for Amrabat, who has made sporadic appearances this season.
Posting on Instagram, Amrabat sent out a rallying call after Morocco secured only a point against the DR Congo at the Africa Cup of Nations.
“Focus on the next one!” Amrabat wrote to his followers.
Responding to the post, Morocco teammate Achraf Lazaar wrote: “Let’s go bro.”

Amrabat’s United future remains unclear
Amrabat has made 17 appearances across all competitions for United this season, but the Morocco midfielder has not scored or picked up a single assist so far.
The United player has not been in Ten Hag’s squad for the last three Premier League matches and his last league appearance came in the 0-0 draw against Liverpool in December.
However, Amrabat has played the full 90 minutes in Morocco’s 3-0 win over Tanzania and 1-1 draw against DR Congo at the Africa Cup of Nations.
His regular first-team minutes at AFCON with Morocco could potentially catch the eye of Ten Hag if he can put in some stellar performances for his country.
