Gratitude to Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba – A Historic Step in the Fight Against Corruption

Dear fellow Ugandans,

I, Hon. Princess Persis Namuganza, Bukono County MP-elect and aspirant for Speaker of the 12th Parliament, rise with profound gratitude and joy to celebrate a defining moment in our nation’s journey.

Today, the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), under the decisive leadership of its Chairman, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has officially retracted and withdrawn the earlier endorsement of Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among for Speaker and Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa for Deputy Speaker. The Leadership has now clearly directed all PLU-leaning Honourable Members-elect to support the candidates that will be presented by His Excellency the President for these vital positions.

This bold, principled and patriotic decision marks a major victory in our collective fight against corruption and the restoration of integrity in Parliament. It demonstrates true loyalty to the President, to the NRM, and to the people of Uganda.

On behalf of millions of grateful Ugandans, I thank you, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, for this courageous leadership. Your action has opened a new chapter of hope as we prepare for the swearing-in of the 12th Parliament (2026–2031).

I call upon all Ugandans across every region, every political affiliation, and every walk of life to celebrate this positive development and to intensify our prayers for His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa and for our beloved motherland. Let us continue to rally firmly behind the President in this decisive war against corruption. The new term has begun with renewed hope, unity, and a clear commitment to a clean, disciplined, and people-centred Parliament.

Together, we shall defeat this vice and build the Uganda our liberators sacrificed for.
