Breaking News: Former Speaker Anita Among’s Home Raided By Security

News reaching our news desk indicate that police and other sister agencies have raided former Speaker Anita Among’s home in Nakasero and are currently undertaking a serious search with movements in and out restricted by the army and police. Her other residence in Kigo has also been cordoned off.

Ever since the Patriotic League of Uganda and Muhoozi announced that they’re retracting the endorsement of Anita Among and Thomas Tayebwa for re-election as Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the 11th parliament respectively. things haven’t so good for Anita Among who is accused of aquiring wealth through siphoning public money from parliament.

Following a heated state house meeting in which Museveni questioned Anita Among over allegations of embezzlement and corruption, Muhoozi has since endorsed West Budama Central legislator Jacob Oboth Oboth for the speakership job in the 12th parliament.

Over the last three years, speaker Anita Among has been leaving large and splashing cash reportedly siphoned from parliament. She angered many when she bought a Shs3.4billion Rolls Royce whose details are still questionable as she insists it’s a gift from her friend.

This raid follows the arrest of Masaka City women legislator Justice Nameere who was picked around Brovad Hotel in Masaka as she went through the streets to celebrate her swearing in. It has since been reported that Namere was driven to her Munyonyo home where huge sacks of cash were discovered reportedly linked to Anita Among.

BREAKING: A joint security team led by the CID, with support from UPDF and other security agencies, has raided former Speaker Anita Among’s residence following a corruption probe into alleged illicit enrichment and money laundering.
