70-Year-Old LC1 Chairperson Arrested for Defiling 13-Year-Old Pupil
A 70-year-old LC1 Chairperson in Obongi has been arrested for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old primary school pupil.
Kasim Muhamad Izaruku, the LC1 Chairperson of Longa Central Cell in Lionga Ward, Obongi Town Council, Obongi District, is accused of raping the minor, who is a pupil at Obongi Primary School. The incident occurred during broad daylight in Obongi Town Council.
The young girl, who is now pregnant, has been forced to drop out of school. The Obongi Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Hasaka Samuel Mpimbasa, has expressed deep concern over the incident and demanded that the rule of law be upheld.

RDC Mpimbasa has directed the District Police Commander (DPC) of Obongi, SP Nkurunziza Graciano, to investigate the matter thoroughly and arrest Izaruku. The LC1 Chairperson is reportedly attempting to negotiate a marriage with the girl’s family to avoid legal consequences.
RDC Mpimbasa has warned that anyone found to be involved in procuring defilement will face strict legal action.
