KAMPALA, Uganda — The Chief of Defence Forces and Uganda’s newly fronted anti-corruption champion according to Hon Lwanga of Mukono, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has initiated a massive crackdown on individuals—including pastors, politicians, and businessmen—who are masquerading as foreign ambassadors and unlawfully utilizing state security detail.

The systematic investigation, which has seen undercover security operatives deployed in various churches and business hubs across the country, follows directives from President Yoweri Museveni.

Sources reveal that the President has grown increasingly concerned over reports of individuals compromising the nation’s integrity by acquiring fake diplomatic accreditations and security assets through bribery. There are many pastors holding diplomatic passports, many businessmen with diplomatic passports and yet they don’t qualify for the Same, they are being investigated.

According to Hon. Lwanga of Mukono, who recently lauded Gen. Muhoozi’s aggressive stance against institutional graft, many elite scammers must now prepare for prison. Many businessmen especially involved in transnational organized cartels hold diplomatic passports and have UPDF or police guards.

The people in government who give Police or UPDF Soldiers to pastors, fake ambassadors, etc will also be arrested and imprisoned.

There are fake pastors who are buying diplomatic accreditations and the state is following these issues and the culprits will be brought to book. If any one know any one holding a diplomatic passport Illegally or masquerading as ambassadors should provide information to nearest police or UPDF nearest office.

Security agencies are closely vetting individuals who have paid hefty bribes to acquire fraudulent accreditations as ambassadors or representatives of foreign countries.

Beyond fake Ambassadorial status, the probe centers heavily on the illegal deployment of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces and the Uganda Police Force. Investigators reveal that several prominent figures acquired these armed guards through corrupt channels without official government approval and bribed army men or government officials to get them.

There are pastors and businessmen with UPDF soldiers who simply cannot explain how they got them. They use these uniformed guards to intimidate the public and execute multi-million shilling scams, a security source privy to the investigation disclosed.

The deployment of elite military guards to civilians has long sparked outrage. Outspoken social commentator Frank Gashumba has frequently questioned the criteria used to allocate military guards to pastors and businessmen, arguing it compromises the UPDF’s image.

Similarly, National Resistance Movement cadre Samuel Okoth recently criticized the security apparatus, accusing elements within the UPDF of failing to protect ordinary Ugandans from the predatory tendencies of certain affluent pastors and businessmen masquerading as Honorary ambassadors or country ambassadors.

As investigations intensify, the military command has issued a stern warning: any politician, pastor, or businessman found with unauthorized UPDF or police guards will be arrested alongside the officers involved.

Gen. Muhoozi’s office has emphasized that state security assets are meant to protect the sovereignty and citizens of Uganda, not to be rented out as status symbols for fraudulent elites.
