Jalameso, Ajuri County MP, Told Mourners in Pallisa That His Victory was God’s Plan
Hon. Jalameso said he did not just trounce Hon. Obua as an NRM flag bearer but doubly, being the Chief Whip of the ruling party and the Vice Chairperson for the Northern region.
“My victory was God planned as he used his people to raise me from grass to grace. My Opponent Obua made a big mistake when he equated himself to Trinity saying he was God the Father as his position of being a government Chief Whip, God the Son as the MP of Ajuri and God the Holy Spirit as the NRM Vice Chairperson of Northern Uganda, which people took as provocation,” Jalameso said.
MP Jalameso made the statement during the burial of a 94-year-old retired teacher, Daniel Emuron, at Kaile Village, Opwateta Sub-county in Pallisa on Saturday afternoon in a ceremony graced by His Highness Papa Paul Sande Emolot Etomoileng, when Mr. Okurut John Micheal, the Soroti City RCC, recognised him amidst the mourners as a person who defeated NRM’s known icon.

“Ladies and gentlemen, it is clearly stated in the Holy Scripture (Bible) that when a person puts himself up, God brings him down. If you want God to raise you up, accept being down as it is in the book of James 4:10,” Jalameso said.
Jalameso, who resigned as a secondary teacher after serving in that position for fifteen years, said though he is in UPC, all the Members of Parliament of Pallisa are his friends who subscribe to NRM, but beyond party anthems and colours, they all serve humanity.
Okurut, as the RCC Soroti City, while addressing the mourners, challenged the newly inaugurated leaders, especially MPs, never to ignore those they succeeded but instead consult them so that people realise the benefit of unity.
“In the house we have Hon. Oseku Richard, the former MP for Kibale County, whom we all know suffered to ensure Kibale remains in Pallisa District and should not be included in Butebo District. Hon. Kaala Kevin Ojinga here is a good leader who served her term well and others such as Hon. Lious Opange, who represented Pallisa County for two consecutive terms,” Okurut said.
While calling the former MPs to greet mourners, Hon. Okwii Constantine of Kibale County, being the host, said he respects Hon. Oseku, saying for the good of Kibale he will always consult him.
“I am not going to follow any issue after the political wave. Whether you voted or didn’t vote for me, and you continue having the heart of hatred, you are wasting time because my assignment now is to serve all the people of Kibale as the Mzei Emuron whom we are burying today used to guide me,” Okwii said.
Hon. Achola Catherine, the Pallisa District Woman Member of Parliament, who recognised the established protocol, said since she joined Pallisa, it was the first time the leaders spoke together.
Hon. Achola said Kibale was the luckiest county in Pallisa because it always produces good leaders.
However, she said though Bukedi is regarded as one of the poorest regions in Uganda, Pallisa District tops up, and people should embrace government programmes and desist from emphasizing the growing of cotton but instead embrace coffee and cocoa farming.
“I have a challenge. People are asking for a function of thanksgiving, but I cannot do it now because you are all aware Pallisa has 21 sub-counties,” Achola said.
The Iteso Paramount Leader, Papa Emorimor, who thanked the church and recognised all the dignitaries, said Papa Daniel Emuron was an opinion leader who was devoted to Iteso culture, and it was a great loss as the majority of people had passed through him being a teacher, but as God placed him in a suitable seat.
“On behalf of the Iteso Cultural Union, I thank God for President Museveni as our beloved leader. I am aware there is a lot of uncertainty in Teso about what our girl Anita Among is undergoing. The Teso Parliamentary Group is in a meeting over the issue and as your leader I shall also get time to go and interact with President Museveni over that matter, but my call is unity. The way I wish my lovely people to emulate the unity of buffalos in a game park who move, eat and stay together, in case a predator comes to attack, they jointly fight back.”
Emorimor asked the Iteso to desist from social media, which is blowing the Anita Among issue out of context yet the problem is manageable.
Who is Mzei Emuron Daniel?
