Former Government Spokesperson and newly elected MP Ofwono Opondo has shared details of a private meeting with former Speaker of Parliament Anita Among, stating that she has withdrawn from the speakership race and is now backing Jacob Oboth-Oboth.

Speaking during an interview on Capital FM, Opondo said he visited Among at her residence on Thursday to understand her situation beyond media reports.

He noted that the meeting lasted over two hours and was also attended by other leaders who briefly interacted with her.
