Flooding strands motorists on Entebbe Highway, sparks drainage concerns
Motorists using the Entebbe Highway were stranded this morning in Kitubulu, Katabi Town Council, after a heavy downpour flooded a section of the road, making it impassable.
Many commuters were forced to wait for more than two hours as several vehicles became stuck in the floodwaters. Residents have since called on authorities to improve the drainage system to prevent similar incidents in the future.
This is not the first time motorists have urged the government to make significant infrastructure improvements at Uganda’s key entry and exit points.
The affected road comes just a few years after the government invested billions of shillings in constructing the Entebbe Expressway and upgrading the highway leading to the airport, one of the country’s main international gateways.
