A German-Engineered fuel-saving technology, Fuel Eco Tec (FET), has entered the Ugandan market targeting motorists stretched by high fuel consumption. FET is designed to improve the efficiency of fuel combustion in both diesel and gasoline engines, significantly reducing the consumption of either petrol or diesel vehicles.

The system is easily inserted into the vehicle without tampering with the general mechanics, and can be removed or transferred to another vehicle where necessary, according to Vitorra Holding Ltd., the distributor of the technology in Uganda.

Thurayya Nakayima, Head of Marketing at Vitorra, says the technology, should come as a relief to motorists especially large fleet owners, coming at a time when there is sustained increase in fuel prices.

“As fuel prices continue to rise and environmental regulations become increasingly important, Fuel Eco Tec offers a practical and cost-effective solution for vehicle owners, fleet operators, transport companies, schools, logistics firms, agricultural businesses, and government institutions,” she says.

Nakayima says the system is suitable for all kinds of vehicles, including small and big cars, commercial trucks and buses, as well as agricultural and construction machinery. The system works by enhancing the distribution and turbulence of the air-fuel mixture within the combustion chamber, allowing oxygen to be utilized more effectively.

This results in more complete combustion, leading to reduced fuel consumption, lower emissions, improved engine performance, and extended engine life. This therefore, also contributes to environmental protection through reduced emissions, according to Nakayima.

Fuel Eco Tec is a fuel optimization technology installed along the fuel line, between the high-pressure fuel pumps and the fuel filter. It is more beneficial and has a higher impact on older cars, like year 2018 and older, because the newer cars now have a similar technology inbuilt.

Moses Kiboneka, a mechanic and digital media comic says he has tried to measure the impact of the technology, and that its installation costs can be recouped in about 14 months through reduced consumption, not counting the reduction in emissions. He says that this means that even the times and costs you need to service your car will also reduce because more fuel in burnt under his technology, leaving very little residue.

The technology optimises fuel combustion, improves oxygen utilisation, enhances engine efficiency, reduces fuel wastage and supports cleaner emissions, among others-URN.
