Trump says ground operation against Iran is unlikely
NEW YORK, June 7. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump has said that doesn’t rule out deploying US ground troops in Iran but said that such a scenario is hardly ever likely.
"We may use them. It's unlikely, but I think we'll keep them there until such time as we have a completion [of the conflict]," he said in an interview with NBC News.
He also said that he doesn’t consider the US contingent of around 50,000 soldiers deployed to the Middle East to be "in danger.".
