Cindy Sanyu Settles Song Issues With Omega 256
Ugandan music star Cindy Sanyu has announced a major breakthrough in her royalty dispute with fellow artist Omega 256, following weeks of public tension over their collaboration “See You Tonight.”
A screenshot shared by Cindy shows an email from DistroKid, confirming that Omega 256 added her to the royalty splits for the track.
This means Cindy will now automatically receive her rightful share of streaming revenue.
In her statement, Cindy thanked fans for their support, writing: “After all the pressure you put on this woman, she finally did the right thing and sent me the split sheet with the 50% allocation… God is faithful.”
The fallout began when Cindy accused Omega 256 of withholding her agreed share of royalties from “See You Tonight.”
The dispute quickly became public, sparking debate among fans and industry insiders about fairness and transparency in Uganda’s music collaborations.
Omega 256 had reportedly been receiving both her own 60% and Cindy’s 40% share, contrary to their agreement. The latest update suggests the issue has now been resolved amicably.
This resolution highlights the growing importance of digital royalty management and artist accountability in Uganda’s evolving music scene. As more artists use platforms like DistroKid, clear agreements and transparency are becoming essential to protect creative partnerships.
