Early Morning on TV, Full Figure Curses Anita Among Saying She is the Reason Why P’ple Who Nearly Killed her Never Went to Prison
On Tuesday morning, Salt TV’s controversial presenter Full Figure Nakangubi used her slot on the morning show to celebrate the woes that befell former Speaker Anita Among, the woman whose political demise has since attracted euphoria among the long-persecuted and suffocated staffers at Parliament, and accredited media representatives alike.
Remarkably, Anita Among has sunk into a dramatic political oblivion at a time when none of her former henchmen and praise singers is anywhere prepared to dare take the risk of publicly being there for her.
Like was the case with Gen Kayihura, Amama Mbabazi and other Musevenists who fell on hard times, everyone has deserted Anita Among like a smelly crippled leper. The latest reporting by the Observer newspaper captured this mood very well. Nobody seems to have any appetite to publicly associate with her anymore-not even the Next Media journalists and managers who for years ate in her palm.
Kasambya MP David Kabanda, who is also a big man in PLU and in whose favor Anita Among switched off many former allies, hasn’t only been in a celebratory mood but also recently incited public anger against any possibility of President Museveni ever forgiving the once very popular Bukedea Woman MP and shielding her from being criminally prosecuted.
It’s against that background that Full Figure used her Tuesday Luganda morning show on Salt TV to have her day to dance on Anita Among’s proverbial political funeral and grave.
Ranting as always, Full Figure narrated to millions of her viewers how she personally was persecuted by people in the Justin Namere universe who nearly killed her in broad day light simply because she exercised her right to politically support someone else for the Buganda region CEC position and not Moses Karangwa for whom Namere was chief campaigner at party elections last September.
She demanded to know why Namere continues to be at large with her husband and her other enablers yet they committed the offence of attempted murder on her in broad day light on the streets of Kampala. She asserted that her file, as the complainant, is still active and was opened by her with the active encouragement of the President for whom she serves as Presidential Advisor.
Full Figure narrated how it was Anita Among’s personal intervention which created criminal immunity for Namere who even the CID boss Dr. Tom Magambo ended up fearing to prosecute because, in her own words, he was under intense pressure from Anita Among. Full Figure said God’s is poetic justice, which explains why Anita Among is finally a sinking political figure because time had to come for her to pay for her transgressions.
Full Figure vowed never to give up her complaint, demanding criminal prosecution for Namere because, in her own words, the motive was to kill her on the streets that day. She asserted that now with her godmother Anita Among down, there is a high possibility that her activism demanding criminal prosecution of Namere will pay off one day. She claimed that Anita Among proved even more powerful than the President when the CID chief Magambo disregarded the big man’s directive to have Namere comprehensively investigated and backed off as the former Speaker had demanded.
Full Figure made this reference about Anita Among as part of her larger submission on why acts of mob justice had lately become rampant with Rugby player Sydney being the latest victim. She asserted that Ugandans, including herself, will continue resorting to mob justice because of growing lack or loss of trust in the criminal justice system especially the Magambo-led CIDs whose inability to act properly, she claimed, was angering many citizens. She demanded to know why police is always in a hurry to pretend to be investigating only after death has resulted. She claimed that what the Nameres subjected her to was nothing but clear acts of mob justice, for which they must be sanctioned as prescribed under the laws of Uganda.
“I’m still here by the grace of God but if Namere and her husband had killed me, you would see them [Police] everywhere pretending to be concerned and seriously investigating the crime after the fact,” ranted Full Figure who refused to denounce her right to resort to Sydney-like mob action to avenge the torture and violence the Nameres allegedly unleashed on her late last year.
