Police Arrest Two Suspects in Connection with Nsambya Cash Robbery
Kampala—Kampala Metropolitan Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the recent robbery of UGX 45,184,600 from officials of Riverside Forex Bureau.
The incident occurred on 6th May 2026, when the manager of the forex bureau and a colleague were robbed by motorcycle-riding assailants at Nsambya shortly after exchanging USD 13,000 into Uganda shillings at a forex bureau along Kampala Road. Following the robbery, investigations led to the recovery of a motorcycle with registration number UMA 655GK, which was found to have a forged number plate used to conceal the identity of the vehicle involved.
On 12th June 2026, police arrested Kamoga Yudah alias “Sparta” and Kayabula Arnold, a boda boda rider. Another motorcycle, registration number UMA 602KK and believed to be linked to the robbery, was also recovered.
“The suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue to establish their roles and apprehend other accomplices,” said ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police. “Kampala Metropolitan Police remains committed to ensuring all those involved are arrested and brought to justice.”
