KAMPALA: Police Arrest Suspect Linked To Robberies in Kyaliwajjala
The Police in Kira Division have arrested a suspected notorious criminal identified as James Lumu, who has been linked to a series of robberies in Kyaliwajjala and the surrounding areas.
According to ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Public Relations Officer Kampala Metropolitan Police, the arrest follows investigations into a robbery that occurred on 16th June 2026 at around 8:00 PM in Nabwojjo, Kyaliwajjala B Zone, where Tenywa Daniel, a 23-year-old male resident of Kiwanga, Mukono District, was attacked with a blunt object and robbed of his mobile phone.
Following information received during the investigations, police established that the suspect was allegedly involved in the attack. On 18th June 2026, police conducted an operation in Kyaliwajjala Kapeera and successfully arrested the suspect.
ASP Luke Owoyesigyire says the suspect is currently in police custody as investigations continue to establish his involvement in other criminal activities within Kira Division and the neighboring areas.
