Territorial Police in Nebbi District are investigating two suspects arrested in a joint intelligence-led operation on 19 June 2026 over possession of military and government stores. The operation was conducted by a combined team comprising Police, UPDF (SFC), ISO, DIS and local leaders in Nebbi Municipality, according to West Nile Regional Police spokesperson SSP Josephine Angucia.
She said a search at the residence of Obedgiu Isaac and another suspect, identified only as Cosmas, led to the recovery of assorted military and government items, including binoculars, handcuffs, military footwear, marijuana and other stores. “The two are being investigated and, upon sanctioning of their case file, they will be taken to court to answer charges of being in possession of military/government stores,” Angucia noted.
Police have urged the public to continue sharing information on suspected criminals and their unlawful activities to facilitate arrests and prosecutions and help maintain security in communities.
