New budget Samsung phone gets upgrade even the Galaxy S26 can't match

If your budget won't stretch to a Galaxy S26, don't panic. Samsung is about to launch a new device next month, and it costs over half the price of its flagship siblings. The Galaxy A27 5G will start at just £319 when it goes on sale, and don't think its low cost means bargain-basement features. This device actually packs quite a punch thanks to a larger 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display that even features a silky smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It even comes with up to 256GB of memory that's expandable storage via an SD Card - that's something the Galaxy S26 can't match.
Making it appear more premium than its price suggests is a slimline water-resistant design that measures in at just 7.8mm thick, and it's powered by Qualcomm's speedy Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor.
A triple-lens camera is placed in the rear case and delivers the usual pin-sharp images, along with the option to snap ultra-wide and close-up macro shots - there's also a 12MP front-facing snapper for those Instagram selfies.
Of course, like all new phones, there's an abundance of AI included, such as Google's Circle to Search, smart Voice Transcription and access to the Gemini personal assistant, which you can chat to like a real person.
There are also some neat camera features, including Object Eraser, which removes unwanted objects in a flash.
Other extras built in include a large 5,000mAh battery that can be fast charged, full access to 5G connectivity and it comes with up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades, as well as up to six years of security updates
