MP Lamwaka Elected as New Acholi Parliamentary Group Chairperson

Omoro District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Catherine Lamwaka, has been elected the new Chairperson of the Acholi Parliamentary Group (APG).
She replaces Hon. Anthony Akol of Kilak North and will be deputized by Hon. Otto Edward Makmot of Agago County. Other elected committee members include Hon. Opio Geoffrey of Nwoya County as General Secretary, Hon. Nancy Acora, the Woman MP for Lamwo, as Treasurer, and Hon. Ojok Andrew Oulanya of Omoro County as Publicity Secretary.
The election was chaired by Torchi County MP, Hon. Okot Peter. Fifteen members were physically present, four participated online, and seven sent apologies.
After her election, Lamwaka said APG’s main agenda is to drive social and economic transformation in Acholi sub-region. She called for unity among leaders, saying it would help advance development, reduce poverty, create wealth, and improve education for children across the region
