Businessman Killed in Aggravated Robbery in Budaka District
ASP Kyempasa Wilfred, the Police Spokesperson, Bukedi North confirms the incident

BUDAKA
Police in Budaka District are investigating a case of aggravated robbery and murder in which one person was killed by unknown attackers in Kamonkoli Sub-county.
According to Bukedi North Region Police Spokesperson, ASP Wilfred Kyempasa, the incident occurred on 17/07/2026 at around 1:30am in Jami B Village, Kamonkoli Sub-county.
The deceased has been identified as Mulongo Bernard, a businessman and resident of Jami B Village.
He says the victim was attacked by unknown people armed with pangas. He sustained serious injuries before the attackers robbed him of properties yet to be established.
He was rushed to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital in critical condition but was later pronounced dead.
The matter was reported to Kamonkoli Police Station by Mwazia Emmy, the LC3 Chairperson of Kamonkoli Sub-county, at 10:45am.
Police opened a case file under SD Ref. 09/17/07/2026 and KML CRB 079/2026.
The scene was visited by the Officer in Charge of Homicide at Budaka CPS, D/AIP Watsala Willy, together with SOCO officers and a team from Kamonkoli Police Station.
