Even If I Died, Are They Beneficiaries To My Estate?” Furious Nsibambi Breaks Silence On Health Rumours, Declares: “I’m Rich, I Don’t Need Anyone’s Prayers”

Former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) vice president for Buganda, Yusuf Nsibambi, has hit back at growing speculation about his health, insisting he is unbothered by the rumours and questioning why his personal life has become a subject of public debate.

The former Mawokota South MP said that even if he were seriously ill, it should not concern those discussing his condition.

“If I’m very sick, so what! Even if I died, are they beneficiaries to my estate?” Nsibambi said, dismissing claims that he is in a desperate state.

He added that he is financially comfortable and does not need sympathy or prayers from people spreading rumours about him.

“Tell them that I’m a very rich person and I don’t need their prayers,” he said.

Nsibambi acknowledged spending more time at his home in Ntinda but said he still enjoys playing golf, meeting friends, and handling his business affairs. He also dismissed reports linking him to any government appointment, saying he has no interest in seeking public office.

According to him, he has achieved financial independence, even claiming he could “feed all Museveni’s ministers for a year,” while rejecting speculation that he is seeking a position at the Uganda Human Rights Commission.

His health became a topic of discussion following reports that he had been undergoing treatment and had reduced his public appearances, with claims that he had even travelled abroad for specialized medical care. However, Nsibambi insisted the reports had been exaggerated and that he remains capable of managing his affairs.

The former opposition leader, who later crossed from the FDC to the ruling NRM and supported the controversial Sovereignty Bill, said he has no regrets about his political choices and is not seeking validation from his former allies.
