Fairway Village Chairperson-Elect Pledges Development, SACCO Expansion

Newly elected Fairway Village Chairperson Prosscovia Rugayya Karunji has pledged to strengthen the village SACCO, promote government wealth creation programmes and improve community organisation following a peaceful election.

The newly elected Chairperson of Fairway Village, Prosscovia Rugayya Karunji, has pledged to prioritise community development, economic empowerment and the implementation of government programmes following a peaceful local council election.

Karunji said the election was conducted peacefully, with no incidents of violence or disputes, describing the process as a demonstration of the community's commitment to democracy and unity.

She said residents agreed during the campaign that development and improving livelihoods would be the main priorities of the new leadership.

"The election was conducted successfully and peacefully, without any violence, chaos or disputes. During the campaign, we agreed that our priority would be development and growth. We are committed to promoting government programmes that improve the livelihoods of our people," Karunji said.

The chairperson-elect said strengthening the village Savings and Credit Cooperative Organisation (SACCO) will be one of her administration's key priorities to improve household incomes and enable residents to benefit from government wealth creation initiatives.

She said her leadership would encourage every resident and stakeholder to join the SACCO to expand financial inclusion and support sustainable community development.

"We already have a SACCO in our area, and we will ensure that every resident and stakeholder becomes a member so that we can support one another economically and achieve sustainable development together. Our area is currently not well organised, but we are determined to organise the community and ensure that everyone benefits from government programmes," she said.

Karunji said her administration would work closely with residents to improve organisation within the village while aligning local development efforts with the government's economic empowerment agenda.

She pledged to ensure that no resident is left behind in accessing opportunities created under government programmes aimed at improving household livelihoods.
