Pastor Rwomushana Defends Museveni, Says Ugandans Would Remain Poor Even If He Left Power, Sparking Public Outrage”

Pastor Isaac Rwomushana has sparked heated debate after saying President Yoweri Museveni is not the main cause of Uganda’s poverty. Speaking during a church sermon, he argued that even if Museveni left power today, many Ugandans would still remain poor because poverty is also driven by people’s mindset, attitude and personal responsibility.

Rwomushana urged citizens to focus on improving their skills, working hard and creating opportunities instead of blaming the government for every challenge. He also praised Museveni for contributing to the country’s development.His remarks quickly divided opinion.

While some agreed that individual effort is important, many others accused the pastor of downplaying the government’s responsibility to create jobs, improve healthcare, education and fight corruption.

Critics also questioned whether his comments were politically motivated.The debate has reignited discussions over whether Uganda’s poverty is mainly caused by leadership failures, citizens’ attitudes, or a combination of both.
