NRM Caucus Moves to Munyonyo for Museveni Address, Ray G Performance
The NRM Parliamentary Caucus has been relocated to Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort Hotel, where President Yoweri Museveni is expected to address MPs alongside a planned performance by singer Ray G.
The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Parliamentary Caucus has been moved from Parliament to Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort Hotel, with the new venue set to host both political discussions and a long-awaited performance by singer Ray G.
The change of venue was announced by Government Chief Whip Dr Ruth Aceng while speaking to journalists at Parliament on Wednesday morning.
“The Caucus has been shifted to Munyonyo Commonwealth Hotel. We expect all NRM and NRM-leaning Independent MPs to be there by midday because the President and National Chairperson of the Ruling Party will be addressing the Caucus,” Dr Aceng said.
She said the larger venue would allow the party to accommodate all members while providing room for other activities planned for the day, including entertainment.
“We are using Munyonyo to accommodate the full Caucus and also create space for the long-awaited music performance by Ray G. The President wants to meet, interact and also have some entertainment with the members,” she said.
The meeting comes as the ruling party mobilises its members ahead of key government business and party activities in Parliament.
Party officials said the decision to move the meeting was informed by the need for more space and improved logistics to host NRM MPs, NRM-leaning Independent legislators and invited guests.
“Munyonyo gives us the capacity to have everyone seated comfortably, to be addressed by the President, and to have the conducive interaction that members have been asking for,” Dr Aceng said.
Ray G, an Ankole-based musician, has in recent months performed at several NRM events and is known for songs that promote party messages. His inclusion on the programme has attracted attention among MPs expected to attend the gathering.
The Caucus is scheduled to begin at midday with an address by President Yoweri Museveni, who also serves as the NRM National Chairman.
Discussions are expected to focus on government programmes, party discipline and preparations for upcoming parliamentary business.
Security has been heightened around Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort Hotel ahead of the meeting.
The NRM Parliamentary Caucus serves as a key platform through which party leadership engages its legislators, communicates policy positions and coordinates parliamentary strategy.
