Three people die of hunger in Moroto
Three elderly women have died in Nadunget Town Council in Moroto District amid a hunger crisis that has left some vulnerable households without government food relief. Two of the deaths were reported in Lolayen Village and one in Nachuka Village.
The woman in Nachuka reportedly died on Tuesday night, while the two women in Lolayen died on today morning.
The deceased have been identified as Natao Nakoru, 60, from Nachuka Cell, and Miria Itai, 60, and Mary Teko, 46, both from Lolayen Village.
Mark Angella, the LC1 Chairperson of Lolayen Village, said the two women who died in his village were among residents who missed out on the food relief recently.
