Buyende Man Gets Life Imprisonment for Murder, Aggravated Robbery
The High Court at Jinja has sentenced Ngobi Ben to life imprisonment on each count after his conviction for aggravated robbery and murder of Tadibuza Michael.
This was revealed today, Tuesday, August 18, 2026 by the Office of Director Public Prosecutions in a public statement.
ODPP says the offences were committed on 4th August 2022 at Buwoire-Buwaluka Village in Buyende District. The prosecution established that the deceased was robbed of property including a bicycle frame, cash and a weighing scale, valued at a total of UGX 537,000, before he was brutally killed.
The deceased’s body was subsequently recovered in a sack in a swampy area. Investigations led police to the accused’s home, where suspected blood stains were found on the bed, mosquito net, floor and entrance. A claw hammer bearing suspected blood and a weighing scale identified as belonging to the deceased were also recovered from the premises.
The prosecution further relied on evidence that shortly before his death, Tadibuza Michael had gone to the accused’s home in an effort to recover money owed to him arising from a produce transaction. The evidence of the prosecution witnesses, together with the recoveries made during investigations, linked the accused to the commission of the offences.
The prosecution successfully proved the charges of aggravated robbery and murder beyond reasonable doubt.
Ngobi Ben has been consequently sentenced to life imprisonment on each of the count of Murder and Aggravated Robbery by the Resident Judge of Jinja, Justice Joanita Bushara
This case has been prosecuted by the Regional Officer- Jinja Mr. Alex Michael Ojok.
