Two Dead, Four Critical After Kagadi-Hoima Road Accident

Two people have died while four others are in critical condition following a road accident along the Kagadi-Hoima road.

The accident occurred on Friday in Kiryane Cell, Kagadi Town Council, after a vehicle registration number UAL 627F carrying six passengers reportedly lost control, veered off the road and overturned into a trench.

The vehicle was travelling from Ibanda towards Hoima when the crash happened. The deceased were identified as Kategaya Geoffrey and the driver, whose identity had not yet been released.

The four injured passengers were rushed to St. Ambrose Hospital, where they are receiving treatment in critical condition.

Police and residents responded to the scene, with preliminary reports suggesting suspected speeding may have contributed to the crash. However, investigations are ongoing to establish the exact cause.

The accident has renewed calls for motorists to observe speed limits and practice caution while using the Kagadi-Hoima road, which has recorded several crashes.

Authorities have urged drivers and passengers to avoid reckless behaviour as investigations into the incident continue.
