Give Us Lumbuye: Gen. Muhoozi Orders Street Protest Against Turkish Gov’t
CDF and PLU founder Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has ordered a protest against the Turkish government. This is indicated in a post on X on Monday.
In the post, he directed “Honourables @DaudiKabanda and @HonTwallafadil to organize the biggest demonstration Uganda has ever seen at the Turkish embassy on the 1st of September,” although he did not divulge why.
Sources say the protest is related to a social media handle under the name Lumbuye. It is believed that Lumbuye, a critic of the sitting government, lives in Turkey. Sources add that for some time now, the government has been in talks with the Turkish government to have him handed over to Ugandan authorities. The discussion reportedly failed to materialize.
“Afande, PLU is going to shake Kampala on 1st of September, 2026. The Turks have been given enough time to produce Lumbuye but they have deliberately refused. They will now know that Uganda is a sovereign state,” said Daudi Kabanda. Kabanda is an MP and the head of PLU Chairman’s Office.
