"Mzee Would Make Us March" Muhoozi Shares Surprising Childhood Memories with President Museveni
General Muhoozi Kainerugaba opened up about the fond memories of his childhood, particularly the moments spent with his father, President Yoweri Museveni, in a recent post shared on his official X handle. Muhoozi shared a nostalgic and lighthearted story about how his father would make their home feel like a military camp, even when they were just kids.
According to Muhoozi, when President Museveni was happy with his children, he would play military music and get them to march around the sitting room. Muhoozi, being the eldest, took the role of parade commander, while his sisters would serve as soldiers.
However, it wasn’t just about the fun of marching – Muhoozi mentioned that as the parade commander, he was required to do 20 push-ups before they could begin marching. It was clear that his father’s method of parenting involved instilling discipline and structure, even in the simplest of family moments.
Muhoozi humorously added, "We were the real Von Trapp family from Sound of Music," drawing a comparison to the famous musical family who had to march and sing in a similar fashion. Reflecting on this unique experience, he jokingly noted, "No wonder my bones are too rigid now."
The post was met with a mix of reactions from Ugandans online, with some finding the story humorous and others seeing it as a glimpse into the military discipline instilled in Muhoozi from a young age.
