Mpuuga’s Democratic Alliance Commits to Helping Musicians Alien Skin and Pallaso
Democratic Alliance, through its leader Mathias Mpuuga, has committed itself to help musicians Patrick Mulwana (Alien Skin) and Mayanja Pius (Pallaso) reform.
Mpuuga said on Friday that the duo has been ignored and chosen its own way and that they will not abandon them.
“The exhibition over the weekend is confirmation that they have been ignored, and they have chosen their own way. I am here to inform you that we are not going to give up on them. We are not going to give up on Mr. Mulwana and others like him,” Mpuuga said.
“We have so many allies with multiple characters. Fortunately for us, we are alive to their situation, which is why we cannot give up on these young people,” he added.
Mpuuga said when they allied with Mr. Mulwana, their intention wasn’t to stage a concert but to gradually help him and others of his nature to reform, saying they cannot change a generation tie in one day.
The duo was involved in a scuffle over the weekend at the Empele festival held in Buloba, Wakiso district. The scuffle resulted in an attack on the home of musician Mulwana Patrick, allegedly led by Mr. Mayanja Pius.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SSP Patrick Onyango said investigations suggest that Alien and Pallaso had a disagreement while performing in Buloba, Wakiso district, at the Emeple festival.
“Preliminary investigations suggest that the reporter (Alien) and the suspect had a disagreement while performing at a venue in Buloba, Wakiso District,” he said.
Uganda police have since issued a statement warning musicians to desist from gang violence.
“Uganda’s police force has observed a trend among musicians who are utilizing gangs to intimidate one another, leading to disorder and chaos at public events and entertainment functions,” police said in a statement on Thursday.
