Bobi Wine Accorded a Heroic Reception in Buganda, Ugandans Claim He'll Win 2026 Elections Early
National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, received a heroic reception in Buganda, reigniting discussions about his chances in the 2026 presidential election.
As thousands of supporters lined the streets to welcome him, many Ugandans boldly claimed he is set to secure a landslide victory against President Yoweri Museveni.
Chants of “People Power, Our Power!” echoed through the crowds, with supporters waving NUP flags and expressing their belief that Bobi Wine is Uganda’s only hope for change.
The overwhelming turnout signaled the growing frustration with Museveni’s rule and the rising influence of Bobi Wine, especially among the youth and urban populations.
Political analysts argue that the opposition leader’s popularity has surged due to increasing dissatisfaction with the government’s handling of economic hardships, corruption, and human rights violations.
“If the election is free and fair, Bobi Wine will easily win with over 95% of the votes,” claimed a supporter from Kampala.
However, the road to 2026 remains uncertain. Government officials and security forces have repeatedly clamped down on NUP activities, citing security concerns.
Many opposition figures have been arrested or harassed, raising fears that the regime may attempt to suppress the electoral process once again.
Despite these challenges, Bobi Wine remains defiant. Addressing the Buganda crowd, he reaffirmed his commitment to fighting for democracy and called upon Ugandans to remain resilient.

“The power belongs to the people. We shall not allow anyone to steal our victory,” he declared.
Even as the election nears, the political atmosphere in Uganda continues to heat up. With such widespread support, the question remains: Can Bobi Wine translate his popularity into an actual electoral victory, or will history repeat itself?
