Massive UPDF Changes Looming as General Muhoozi Announces The Following Key Promotions

The Chief of Defence Forces and Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has announced the promotion of key officers in the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF).
As reported by UPDF on March 4, 2025, the latest shake-up sees three Brigadier Generals elevated to the rank of Acting Major General, marking a significant shift in the military’s leadership.
Brigadier General Charles Byanyima, Brigadier General Deus Sande, and Brigadier General Daniel Kakono have all been promoted to Acting Major General.
The move is in line with the new establishment structure of the UPDF and recognizes their flawless track records of excellent service.
The Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs, along with the UPDF fraternity, has extended its congratulations to the newly promoted officers, acknowledging their commitment and dedication to national security.
