"Is Museveni Aware He Always Addresses Paid Crowds Ferried From Other Areas?" - Nubian Li

Musician and political activist Nubian Li has cast doubt on the authenticity of the crowd that attended President Yoweri Museveni’s campaign rally for NRM candidate Nambi Faridah in Kawempe North on Tuesday.
In a social media post, Nubian Li claimed that the people who gathered at the rally were not genuine supporters but rather individuals paid and transported from other areas.
He argued that this has become a norm for the ruling party, which he accused of lacking real grassroots support.
“Is M7 aware of the fact that always the crowds of people he addresses are paid and ferried from other areas? No wonder they don’t pay any attention to his speech and only seem to worry about their pay and transportation back to their homes,” he posted.
The musician further stated that the event in Kawempe had “exposed the regime,” with cameras capturing evidence of alleged crowd manipulation.
He linked this to broader concerns about electoral malpractices, including vote rigging and intimidation of opposition supporters.
“NRM has no genuine support, thus the vote rigging and violence on those who oppose them,” he added.
Similar accusations have been made in past elections, with opposition figures frequently criticizing NRM’s campaign tactics.
The Kawempe North by-election is set for Thursday, with tensions running high amid claims of electoral misconduct.
