Elias Nalukoola Sends a Bold Message to Museveni Amid Threats to Challenge His Victory in Court

Kawempe North MP-elect Elias Nalukoola has vowed to defend his victory at all costs, dismissing threats by the ruling government to challenge his win in court.

Speaking to his supporters, Elias Nalukoola declared that despite the violence that marred the by-election, the will of the people prevailed.

He warned that any attempts to overturn his victory through the judiciary would be met with fierce legal resistance.

“Amidst the violence, we triumphed. Even in the court, we will defeat them with a bloody nose. What they are doing is reverse psychology. We shall defend our victory with every legal means possible,” Nalukoola stated defiantly.

The election in Kawempe North was characterized by chaotic scenes, with reports of voter intimidation, ballot destruction, and clashes between security forces and opposition supporters.

The National Unity Platform (NUP), to which Nalukoola belongs, has accused the government of orchestrating the violence to disrupt the democratic process.

However, the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) has hinted at challenging the results in court, alleging electoral malpractice.

Despite these threats, Elias Nalukoola remains confident that any legal battle will only affirm his rightful win.

He further called on his supporters to remain vigilant, accusing the government of using intimidation tactics to discredit the opposition’s victory.

“They know they lost fairly, and now they want to use the courts to achieve what they failed to do at the ballot,” he added.

Even as tensions remain high, the political battle for Kawempe North is far from over. Whether the NRM proceeds with a legal challenge or not, Nalukoola has made it clear that he is ready to fight and defend the people’s choice.
