Video Of Hon Balaam Scrubbing Parliament Stirs Mixed Reactions

A trending video on different social media platforms showing the Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs, Hon. Balaam Ateenyi Barugahara, cleaning the parliament has left many Ugandans puzzled.

The cleaning exercise was conducted by the parliament cleaning staff after the heavy rainfall had scattered soil and other rubbish fragments within the parliament compound. Balaam joined the staff to help push water across the pathway.

This act of kindness has earned Balaam lots of praise from many Ugandans. Many are calling Balaam a true leader and one that serves with example.

While some were praising Balaam, others were questioning whether it was necessary for Balaam to help the staff who are on payroll to do their duty.

This is not the first time Balaam is portraying his acts of kindness. In May 2024, Dr. Balaam emphasized the importance of supporting underprivileged children. Demonstrating his dedication to community development, Dr. Balaam actively participated in the launch of the Nuwamanya Home Charity Foundation in Mbarara City. 

Also during his festive season in Masindi, Balaam Balaam visited Masindi Hospital to share the festive spirit with new mothers. He spent time with 30 mothers who had given birth on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, offering them gifts and words of encouragement.

Those are some of the few moments in which Dr. Balaam has shown his kindness to the people of Uganda.
