Police in Matugga have launched an investigation into a gruesome murder that occurred in the early hours of May 8, 2025, in Kito Cell. The victim, 45-year-old traditional healer Bisobolwa Isa, was fatally stabbed following an altercation with a younger man he had been living with.

The suspect, identified as 18-year-old Mutyaba Richard, allegedly attacked Bisobolwa after a dispute over Shs 2,000. According to eyewitness accounts, the two men were last seen together on the evening of May 7 at Mama Naka Bar in Matugga. They were reportedly drinking and appeared to be on friendly terms before the situation took a violent turn.

At approximately 1:20 AM, a heated argument erupted between the pair at their residence. During the confrontation, Mutyaba is said to have used a sharp object to stab Bisobolwa twice—once in the neck and again in the abdomen. The injuries proved critical.

Bisobolwa was rushed to Wanda Health Centre for urgent medical attention but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police responded promptly to the scene, registering a murder case, documenting evidence, and transporting the body to Mulago Mortuary for a postmortem examination.

Mutyaba fled the scene following the incident and remains at large. Authorities are actively pursuing leads and have appealed to the public for assistance in locating him. Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact the nearest police station.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SSP Patrick Onyango confirmed the incident and stated that investigations are ongoing.

The tragic incident has left the Kito Cell community in deep shock, with residents struggling to comprehend how a minor financial dispute could escalate into such a violent act
