Another YY Coach Involved in Road Accident Near Karuma Junction, Several Injured

A YY Coach bus belonging to the popular YY Bus Company was involved in a serious accident earlier today just a few kilometers past Karuma Junction in Uganda.According to early reports, the bus veered off the road, leaving several passengers injured and others badly shaken.
The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation, but witnesses at the scene said the bus appeared to be speeding before it lost control and crashed.
Emergency responders arrived quickly, helping to evacuate the injured and provide first aid.
Some passengers were rushed to nearby hospitals, while others remained at the scene, visibly traumatized but thankful to be alive.
The bus was reportedly travelling from Kampala to northern Uganda, carrying dozens of passengers.
Among them were women, children, and elderly people heading home after the weekend. Some survivors have told local media that the experience was terrifying, with the bus swerving and passengers screaming moments before the impact.
“I thought I was going to die,” said one passenger who escaped with a minor head injury.
“People were crying, some were bleeding. It was a nightmare.”
This is not the first time a YY Coach has been involved in an accident.
The company, which operates many long-distance buses across Uganda, has faced criticism in the past for issues related to speeding and poor road safety practices.
The latest incident is likely to raise fresh concerns about passenger safety and the regulation of public transport.
Police officers and traffic authorities are already on the scene, and investigations are ongoing to determine what caused the crash.
The Uganda Police Force has urged all drivers to exercise extra caution, especially during the rainy season when roads are slippery and visibility is reduced.
So far, no fatalities have been reported, but the full number of injured passengers has not yet been confirmed.
The bus wreckage has been towed to a nearby station for further inspection.
Families with loved ones who were on the bus are being advised to check with local hospitals or contact YY Bus Company for updates.
We wish a quick recovery to all those who were injured and hope for better enforcement of road safety measures going forward
