NUP Opens Applications for 2026 General Election Aspirants
The National Unity Platform (NUP) has issued a nationwide call for expressions of interest from party members seeking to contest various elective positions in the upcoming 2026 General Elections.
The announcement, published in the Daily Monitor, signals the party's formal commencement of its candidate selection process.
In a statement released by the party Chairperson of the Election Management Committee, Chemutai Harriet, NUP encouraged qualified and interested members to submit their applications beginning June 1, 2025. The submission window will remain open until June 23, 2025, on weekdays between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The application process requires aspirants to complete a one-page expression of interest form, which can be accessed both online and at designated regional offices.
Forms may also be picked from constituency registrars or the party headquarters in Makerere-Kavule.
Applicants are expected to submit identification, membership credentials, and academic documents to support their eligibility.
While academic qualifications are mandatory for certain positions, including Members of Parliament, LC5 Chairpersons, and City Mayors, the party encourages all applicants to include them.
